Rams, Broncos Could Partner On Intriguing Trade Before Deadline

The Denver Broncos have gotten off to a 1-5 start this season, and all indications are that the club will look to sell off some pieces between now and the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline. A team like the Los Angeles Rams could make sense as a potential trade partner as well.

Offensive tackle Garett Bolles could be one of those players on the move.

Bolles would have no shortage of interested teams if the Broncos did in fact place him on the trade block, as he is a reliable left tackle who still has another year remaining on his deal after this season.

Bleacher Report’s NFL staff specifically names the Rams as a club that should attempt to trade for Bolles right now.

B/R notes that while the Rams, who are coming off of a 26-9 win over the Arizona Cardinals to improve to 3-3, look like legitimate playoff contenders, they have a clear issue at left tackle.

Bolles expressed his displeasure with the losing culture that has developed in Denver, as the Broncos have failed to post a winning season ever since drafting him back in 2017.

It would be a win-win situation for all involved. Los Angeles would land the tackle it sorely needs, Denver would get out from under Bolles’ salary while also recouping some assets to help facilitate a rebuild in the process and Bolles would move from a miserable Broncos squad to a Rams team that could very well make the postseason (or at least make a push for it).

Bolles has never made a Pro Bowl, but he did earn a Second-Team All-Pro selection in 2020 and has been a dependable presence along Denver’s offensive line for the better part of his seven-year tenure with the franchise.

Plus, because the 31-year-old will not hit free agency until 2025, he would represent a fix for the Rams for both this season and next year.
