Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford played in his team’s Week 4 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts, but he was clearly compromised, as he was hobbling around the field in the second half.

After the game, Stafford informed reporters that he is currently dealing with a hip injury, but he does not think the issue will cost him any time.

“Oh, you don’t have to worry about that. I’ll be out there,” Stafford said when asked about his status for the Rams’ Week 5 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles (per Stu Jackson of the Rams’ official team website).

Stafford went 27-for-39 with 319 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Los Angeles’ 29-23 victory on Sunday. Through four games this season overall, he haws thrown for 910 yards, two touchdowns and four picks while completing 60.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 74.5.

Injuries have severely sapped Stafford over the past couple of seasons. Two offseasons ago, following the Rams’ Super Bowl victory, Stafford underwent elbow surgery. He then suffered a concussion midway through the 2022 campaign, and later in the season, Stafford sustained a spinal cord contusion that ended his year.

Stafford hardly resembles the same quarterback who threw 41 touchdown passes and led LA to a championship two years ago.

The 35-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Georgia, was originally selected by the Detroit Lions with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft.

He spent the first 12 years of his career with the Lions, making one Pro Bowl. He was then traded to the Rams in a deal that sent fellow quarterback Jared Goff to Detroit in March 2021.

In 29 games with in Los Angeles overall, Matthew Stafford has thrown 53 touchdowns and 29 interceptions. He signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension with the club in March 2022.

The Rams are 2-2 on the year.
