Cory Littleton: 8 Tackles, 2 Sacks, Blocked Punt

Cory Littleton has arguably been the MVP of the Rams defense so far this season. Littleton has absolutely seized the opportunity of starting at inside linebacker, with the departure of Alec Ogletree.

Littleton has been given the role of being the signal caller on defense. He hasn’t disappointed yet.

This year, he currently is eighth in the NFL with 58 tackles. The biggest improvement with the Littleton-led defense, is the Rams have improved in stopping the run.

Last season, the Rams were the 28th ranked defense against the run. This year, they currently are the 13th ranked run defense. That’s a huge improvement.

There’s no question Littleton is a big reason for that. The thing is, Littleton makes a major difference on special teams as well.

This is where Littleton originally made a name for himself, blocking punts and making athletic plays. He blocked yet another punt (which ended up as a safety), giving the Rams a 12-0 lead early on. It’s his second blocked punt this season.

Littleton continues to show why he was given the starting inside linebacker spot, with his outstanding play.
