Marshawn Lynch Has Brutal Opinion Of Broncos’ Russell Wilson

Many feel that Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch, and the Seattle Seahawks should have had a longer run than they did during the 2010s. The club made back-to-back Super Bowl appearances during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 campaigns, routing the Denver Broncos in the former year and then losing to the New England Patriots in the latter.

It became very public that there was some tension in the Seahawks locker room, as quarterback Russell Wilson (who is now under center for the Broncos) was not very well-liked by some of his teammates, and head coach Pete Carroll was accused of coddling Wilson.

Former Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch shed some light on the situation (particularly his relationship with Wilson) during an appearance on Club Shay Shay with Shannon Sharpe this week.

“I respect Russell as a player and a teammate,” Lynch said. “Anything I say because of the situation throwing a pick on the goal line, not giving me the ball, him leaving from Seattle … anything I can say is going to come off as malice or as if I’m a hate. I’ll take Russ and I’ll put him right there at quarterback and I’ll rock with him because I’ve done that. As far as anything else … Can’t pick up the phone and call old boy or nothing … I don’t got his number.”

Lynch added that Wilson once called him from a blocked number, indicating that Wilson did not want the star halfback to have his contact information.

“I don’t know how or why, but I just know I got a call from a blocked number,” Lynch said.

He also said that Carroll put a strain on the relationship between Wilson and the other players by giving the signal-caller preferential treatment.

“You’re kind of putting him on a pedestal or outside the box, and it’s like he doesn’t have to be held accountable to the same (expletive) that we do,” Lynch said. “What the (expletive) is that?”

Lynch spent five-and-a-half seasons with the Seahawks, making four trips to the Pro Bowl during his time there.
