It seems like just yesterday the NFL season was kicking off. It’s crazy to think we’re already four games into the season. With the first quarter coming to a close, the Miami Dolphins have a golden opportunity this week. The Dolphins square off against the New England Patriots in Foxboro with a chance to take a commanding lead in the AFC East.
Miami has come out of the gates hot, winning their first three games in exciting — if not somewhat ugly — fashion. On the other hand, the Patriots have been mired in what has become a typical September swoon. New England is coming off two straight losses and heading into Sunday’s match-up at 1-2. If the Dolphins can come out of Sunday’s game with the W, not only will they move to 4-0 on the season, they’ll have opened a 3.5 game lead on the Patriots.
Not only is Sunday’s game critical for the Dolphins in the scope of this season, it’s a crucial stepping stone in silencing the doubters. The Dolphins came into the season routinely looked at as one of the worst teams in the league. Pundits still don’t truly think this team is for real, but a win Sunday can change that.
How does David take down Goliath? What does Miami need to do to emerge victorious and put a stranglehold on the division? Let’s look at three big keys to victory.
