When Tyreek Hill was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins, some wondered how he would fare without Patrick Mahomes throwing him the football.
Well, not only has Hill thrived, but he has actually been even more productive with the Dolphins than he was with his former club.
During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show this week, former NFL wide receiver Cris Carter was asked about how Hill is able to be so effective.
In his response, Carter mentioned that he is good friends with legendary former Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino, and he says Marino told him that Hill is the hardest work on the team.
Hill, who played his collegiate football at West Alabama, was originally selected by Kansas City in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, so it’s not like he was some elite prospect coming out of college.
However, during his rookie campaign, the speedy wide out flashed his potential, catching 61 passes for 593 yards and six touchdowns while also registering three special teams touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection.
The following year, Hill dramatically increased his production as a receiver, hauling in 75 receptions for 1,183 yards and seven scores. He then upped the ante in 2018, snaring 87 balls for 1,479 yards while reaching the end zone 12 times.
Hill made six trips to the Pro Bowl and notched First-Team All-Pro honors twice in six seasons with the Chiefs.
Then, during his first year in South Beach last season, Tyreek Hill racked up 119 catches for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns, once again earning a trip to the Pro Bowl as well as another First-Team All-Pro selection.
Through two weeks in 2023, the 29-year-old has logged 16 catches for 255 yards and three scores.
