The Miami Dolphins visited with free-agent defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh on Wednesday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Rapoport noted that nothing is imminent between the two sides.

Suh previously played for the Dolphins between 2015 and 2017 after signing a major contract with the club in free agency. He was a massive disappointment in Miami and was ultimately released in March 2018.

The 37-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Nebraska, was originally selected by the Detroit Lions with the second overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft.

He spent the first five years of his career with the Lions and immediately established himself as a dominant force, racking up 66 tackles, 10 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown during his rookie campaign.

Suh made the Pro Bowl in four of his five seasons in Detroit and also earned three First-Team All-Pro selections. While he never reached double-digit sacks again, he remained one of the best defensive players in football.

However, once he got to Miami, Suh’s production slowed. He did make one Pro Bowl with the club in 2016, but overall, he was never able to regain his Lions form.

Following his stint in South Beach, Suh spent one season with the Los Angeles Rams in 2018, finishing with 59 tackles, 4.5 sacks and a couple of fumble recoveries.

The Portland, Or. native then made his way to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for three years, helping the Buccaneers win a Super Bowl during the 2020-21 campaign.

Suh was a free agent for the first half of last season before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played in eight games for the squad, logging 10 tackles and a sack.

The veteran is hoping to sign with a contender. Maybe the Dolphins could be that team.

Miami is 10-4 and will battle the Dallas Cowboys this weekend.
