Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is pushing his team to get it together with four games remaining in the regular season.

The Colts are 7-6 and currently hold the seventh and final playoff spot in the AFC, but there are four other teams behind them that have the same record. Indianapolis merely lays claim to the spot via tiebreakers.

Pittman understands what is at stake.

“Yeah, there’s a sense of urgency with every game from here on out,” Pittman said, via Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. “Last game, we just didn’t get it done. We were fortunate that everybody except Tennessee lost in the AFC South. We’re kind of in the same spot, but we did miss an opportunity to gain ground.”

Most recently, Indy lost to the Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 34-14 this past weekend.

Pittman added that while he does not look at the standings too much, he does notice them.

“I see that there’s potential and we just have to win games,” Pittman said.

Pittman logged eight catches for 95 yards against the Bengals. On the season overall, he has hauled in 95 receptions for 984 yards and four touchdowns and is on pace to have the best year of his career.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Southern California, was selected by the Colts in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He caught 40 passes for 503 yards and a score during his rookie campaign, and the following year, Pittman snared 88 balls for 1,082 yards and six touchdowns. He then took a bit of a step back in 2022, finishing with 99 grabs for 925 yards while reaching the end zone four times.

Michael Pittman Jr. and the Colts will host the Pittsburgh Steelers this Saturday. They will then face the Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans to close out the regular season.
