Minnesota Vikings: 3 Best Performances from Week 1 vs. 49ers

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Adam Thielen, Wide Receiver

One of the biggest keys for the Vikings this season is wide receiver Adam Thielen. After breaking out with a big season in 2018, Thielen came into the season with massive expectations and did not fail to live up to the hype in Week 1 against the 49ers.

Thielen ended his Week 1 performance with six receptions for 102 yards. He didn’t score a touchdown, but he did not need to in order to earn his spot on this list.

Minnesota’s offense thrives on having a big-play threat like Stefon Diggs and a top-notch possession receiver in Thielen. Without either one, the offense would not be nearly as dangerous as it is. Cousins has always been a possession quarterback, however, which does tend to favor Thielen.

San Francisco may not be the best defensive team in the NFL, but having this kind of game to start the season should make Vikings’ fans even more excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for Thielen.
