Fourth-year linebacker Eric Kendricks had his best game of the season on Sunday night. He recorded a team-high 12 tackles, all of the solo variety. One of those was a tackle for loss.

Kendricks now has 72 tackles on the year, which is tied for 18th in the league. That includes 48 solo tackles, while he also has four passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Kendricks had a career-high 113 tackles in 2017, and he registered a career-best 72 solo tackles during his rookie season three years ago. He’s on pace to surpass the first number and approach the second if he keeps up his high level of play.

The Vikings needed Kendricks’ contributions on Sunday night, albeit in a losing effort. Nonetheless, it was nice to see him reach double digits in tackles for the first time this year. Kendricks had eight such games in his first three seasons, and Minnesota certainly hopes there are a lot more to come.
