Minnesota Vikings: 3 Key Matchups to Watch in Week 2 vs. Packers

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

After coming through with a Week 1 win over the San Francisco 49ers, the Minnesota Vikings are prepared for a showdown with their NFC North division rival Green Bay Packers. It is a game that will tell the Vikings a lot about what kind of football team they have this year.

There is a chance that the Packers could be without star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He suffered a knee sprain in Green Bay’s dramatic Week 1 comeback win against the Chicago Bears. If Rodgers is forced to miss Sunday’s game, Minnesota will feel extremely good about their chances to pick up a win.

Minnesota saw their new offense led by Kirk Cousins on display in Week 1 against San Francisco. Dalvin Cook also came back with a strong performance, both on the ground and as a receiver. Adam Thielen and Brandin Cooks also had good performances in the first game of the year.

Looking ahead to this week, the Vikings are hoping to set the tone for the race to the NFC North title. Beating the Packers would make a strong point early on in the season.

All of that being said, which three key matchups do the Vikings need to focus on winning this week against the Packers?
