Minnesota Vikings: 3 Key Matchups to Watch in Week 2 vs. Packers

Logan Bowles-USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Rudolph Against Green Bay’s Defense

Finally, the Vikings need to figure out a way to get Kyle Rudolph going this week. He only received one target in Week 1, catching that pass for an 11-yard touchdown. Kirk Cousins hasn’t looked to Rudolph much since joining the Vikings, but that needs to change this week.

Green Bay’s defense could be susceptible to allowing big games from tight ends. Rudolph has the size and athleticism to be a major threat for the Vikings and it’s time to show it.

Minnesota’s offense relies heavily on Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs for big plays. Taking some pressure off of them is exactly what the Vikings need from Rudolph.

Expect to see the offense look to get Rudolph involved early and often this week. He is too talented to only receive one target per game. Rudolph should respond well to an increased role and has the potential for a big week.
