The Minnesota Vikings face the Chicago Bears in a battle for first place in the NFC North. While the Bears are on a roll, here are three ways the Vikings can come away with a victory.
The Minnesota Vikings, favorites to win the NFC North, find themselves in a dogfight. They thought it would be against the Green Bay Packers but the Chicago Bears are the surprise team this season. They already won more games this season (6) than they did all of last season (5) and see themselves atop the division.
The Vikings are nipping at the Bears’ heels. They are also playing well, having won four of their last five games (their only loss was to the scorching New Orleans Saints). Additionally, they just had a bye week and got a chance to get some key players healthy.
This should be a good game between two teams on the rise. It was good enough for the NFL to flex it from a 1:20 Eastern start to primetime Sunday night. The game features two of the toughest defenses in the NFL. The Vikings rank 5th in yards allowed and 11th in points allowed. The Bears rank 4th in both points and yards allowed. In addition, they are ranked number one in turnovers caused.
The Vikings won 5 of the last 6 games against Chicago but this game will be difficult to win. This is a different Bears team. They have Mitchell Trubisky at quarterback. The second-year player is making gains this season but is still far from a finished product. They also have Matt Nagy as the head coach. Nagy has one of the great offensive minds in the NFL. This is a completely different offense than what we’re used to seeing. Combine a high-powered offense and an elite defense and you can see why they are leading the division.
While winning this game will be difficult, there are ways the Vikings can play that will help them get back on top of the North. Here are three of them:
