Minnesota Loses It’s Fifth Super Bowl
Defense wins championships, but the pressure of securing the organization’s first Super Bowl victory is too much for this franchise. After finishing the season second in the NFC North, the Vikings will battle through three playoff games, with two on the road, to make it to the 2019 Super Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia.
Three playoff games leave the Vikings battered and injured heading into Super Bowl 53. They will likely face either perennial Super Bowl contender New England Patriots, the recently revived Jacksonville Jaguars, or the Ben Roethlisberger led Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite the AFC being relatively week, these three teams could give the Vikings trouble. An offense led by Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski is always a threat as is a Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell trio, and the Jaguars match up perfectly with the Vikings.
This loss will be the fifth Super Bowl loss in franchise history, but fans will be excited for things to come as this team continues to gel. The Minnesota Vikings are stocked with young talent under contract for the next few years. The depth is so good, Minnesota was able to treat their 2018 first round pick as a luxury item by taking corner Mike Hughes out of Central Florida. This move is either to increase the depth of the team or to prepare for the potential departure of Trae Waynes.
