Minnesota Vikings: What to Expect from Kirk Cousins in 2018

Reasons To Be Excited

While there are some things to be worried about with Cousins (see below) there are many things to love about his game as well. Cousins is noted for his ability to throw the deep ball and since 2001 is top three in the league in yards per attempt. He’s also among the leaders in completion percentage and sack rate. Cousins can pick teams apart if he has a clean pocket to throw from.

Keenum was well-liked among Vikings players and it seems to this point that Cousins also fits in well. Cousins is a typical take charge sort of quarterback and will demand excellence and may be more firey than the most recent Vikings quarterbacks. From a fan’s point of view, Cousins being an “aw shucks” sort of guy and strongly family oriented which seems to play well with Vikings fans.

Cousins is also surrounded by the most offensive talent he’s had in his career. Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs are the best wide receiver duo he’s had, though Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson were also very good. I think that the biggest upgrade on offense for Cousins is Dalvin Cook. Cousins has never had a running back that was as good running, catching and blocking as Dalvin Cook.
