NCAA Football: 5 teams that will surprise in 2020

Every NCAA football season features some surprise teams that end up exceeding expectations and putting together a special season.

Before the start of the 2019 season, the expectation certainly wasn’t that LSU would end up having a historic offense and tear through the basically every team they faced. It ended up setting up Joe Burrow being a no-brainer selection at No.1 in the 2020 NFL Draft.

One of the better stories in college football from last season was the rapid turnaround the Baylor Bears experienced. After posting a 7-6 record and finishing just 5th in the Big 12, they followed that up by finishing 2019 with a No. 7 ranking nationally and trailing only Oklahoma in the conference.

Whether it’s a team that ends up becoming an unexpected champion or a program on the rise at a faster pace than expected, the 2020 season could feature some truly intriguing outcomes, too.

With that being said, here are five teams who are in prime position to surprise during the 2020 season.
