Oregon Ducks

It may be a bit strange to see a team that managed to win the Rose Bowl and finished ranking No. 6 nationally on this list. The reasoning behind the Oregon Ducks’ inclusion is that they appeared primed to achieve even greater results in 2020.

The Ducks lost Justin Herbert and four key offensive lineman to the 2020 NFL Draft but many of the team’s key pieces on offense will be back at skill positions. The ability for the offense to execute with Tyler Shough at quarterback will be a critical determining factor in their success.

Oregon will have no shortage of talent from last year’s roster between a variety of established veterans and players on its defense that will be returning and ready to shoulder more responsibility. There should be no concerns with the unit’s ability to thrive next season.

With all of the optimism surrounding Oregon’s defense heading into next season, it seems safe to assume they could be among the nation’s top dark horse championship contenders. They will have an early test on Sept. 12 against Ohio State in Eugene.
