2. Patrick Surtain II, Alabama

Surtain fits the bill as an extremely physical part of Alabama’s secondary. Along with Diggs, Surtain built one of the best cornerback duos in the country. He is the next great player on the Crimson Tide defense and that will continue to show during his junior year.

As a sophomore, Surtain logged 42 tackles, eight pass deflections, three forced fumbles, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery. In two years as a starter, Surtain has allowed 681 yards on 986 coverage snaps. The 6’2 corner routinely got the better of receivers in the SEC, which is no easy task.

Surtain could easily be a top 10 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He is blessed with great strength that allows him to play the physical style of Alabama football. Surtain also has great hands and instincts. He can cover on the outside or drift into the slot. Alabama will not miss a beat with Surtain back in the secondary in 2020.

Heading into the season, Surtain is viewed as the top draft prospect at the cornerback position in the nation. He will certainly be one of the top in the SEC.
