1. Trevor Lawrence, Clemson

Entering the 2020 collegiate season, Lawrence is the consensus favorite to go first overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. The 6-6 quarterback possesses desirable size, and he can surprise defenses with his speed and mobility. No quarterback in college football offers as complete of a package as Lawrence.

As a true freshman, Lawrence overtook Kelly Bryant for Clemson’s starting job. Even in his first season, Lawrence played football with unique precision and flash. He led the Tigers to a 15-0 season.

In the College Football Playoffs, Clemson obliterated their opponents. In the Cotton Bowl, the Tigers nearly shut out the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a 30-3 showing. Then, Clemson thumped the Alabama Crimson Tide in a one-sided 44-16 rout during the National Championship game.

Lawrence led the Tigers to another National Championship appearance last season, but Clemson fell victim to LSU and Joe Burrow. With Burrow entering the NFL, along with many of LSU’s top players, Lawrence and Clemson seem primed for another run at a title.

Clemson did recently suffer a loss when head coach Dabo Swinney announced that star receiver Justyn Ross will miss the upcoming season. However, the Tigers are still a great team, and Lawrence is the best quarterback in college football.
