Patriots Land Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb In This Blockbuster Trade Proposal

The New England Patriots are in need of a No. 1 wide receiver, and the Dallas Cowboys are currently having some trouble with CeeDee Lamb. Is there a match there?

Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon seems to think so.

Lamb has not shown up for Cowboys mandatory minicamp due to a contract dispute with the team, which has some wondering if Dallas will trade him.

More than likely, the two sides will reach an agreement. Lamb is preparing to enter the final year of his contract, and the Cowboys surely don’t want to lose him. Especially not after the phenomenal season Lamb enjoyed in 2023.

But, if Dallas ends up deciding that Lamb is too expensive, it could ultimately place him on the trade block and gauge his value.

The Patriots’ Trade Proposal For CeeDee Lamb

Gagnon has the Patriots sending rookie wide out Ja’Lynn Polk and a first-round draft pick to the Cowboys in exchange for Lamb.

This would provide Dallas with an incredibly talented young receiver in Polk while also giving the club a great draft asset. Meanwhile, New England would land the elite pass-catcher it so desperately needs.

This actually would not be a bad package for the Cowboys at all.

The Pats went just 4-13 last season and don’t appear to look much better heading into 2024, so that first-round pick could be very, very valuable. Plus, Polk hauled in 69 receptions for 1,159 yards and nine touchdowns as the No. 2 receiver at the University of Washington in 2023.

And who was the No. 1 receiver? Rome Odunze, who was selected by the Chicago Bears with the ninth overall pick of the draft in April.

Polk went to the Patriots in the second round, but had he played for a different school where he was able to get more touches, who knows? He may have been a first-round selection.

Lamb is expected to land a contract worth over $30 million annually, and given all of the cap space New England has, it would be able to accommodate Lamb fairly easily.

Wide receivers have been getting paid this offseason, with Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson recently bagging a four-year, $140 million contract, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

Lamb will not get as much as Jefferson, but he will probably get a larger deal than Philadelphia Eagles stud A.J. Brown, who secured a three-year, $96 million extension earlier this offseason.

We’ll see if the Cowboys can get something done with CeeDee Lamb before real trouble starts (if it hasn’t already).
