Mark Ingram, Running Back
The Saints’ running back duo of Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram gobbled up a lot of yards on Sunday. The former finished with 12 carries for 56 yards and two scores to go with four catches for 46 yards.
Ingram outgained Kamara in both rushing and receiving yards, though. The eighth-year pro amassed 104 yards on 13 carries while adding three receptions for 58 yards and a TD.
After serving a four-game suspension to begin the season, Ingram finally seems to be finding his way. Sunday’s 100-yard rushing effort was his first in almost a year, and he was also a huge weapon in the passing game.
The most noteworthy play for Ingram was a screen pass he caught and turned into a 28-yard TD to give the Saints a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter. But his overall performance was impressive, and it seems like he’s now fully back in the fold. That should only help New Orleans moving forward, even though the Saints already boast one of the league’s premier offenses.
