1. Defense’s Hot Hand
Giving up 48 points in the season opener seemed like a wake-up call for the New Orleans Saints’ defense. Since then, they have been rather stout, giving up more than 23 points only twice. They have given up 51 total points over the last four games, while still boasting the best rush defense in the league at 75.3 yards per game.
Despite having one of the worst pass defenses in the league, the Saints have allowed over 300 yards just once in the last four games and have recorded six of their 10 interceptions. That will come in handy against the league’s best passing offense in Tampa Bay, who are averaging 344 yards per game through the air.
The Saints have also recorded 20 sacks over the last four games including seven in the loss last week to Dallas. The Buccaneers have given up 37 sacks on the season, so putting pressure on Jameis Winston is key as it will make him force his throws and open up the opportunity for big turnovers for the Saints.
