New Orleans Saints: 3 Keys to Victory Against Tampa Bay Buccaneers

3. Alvin Kamara’s 2018 Breakout

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

We all know Alvin Kamara is a special player for the New Orleans Saints. He proved that last year when he won Offensive Rookie of the Year after recording over 100 total yards in eight games. This year, he has been very good but has played more of a productive role for the team rather than a dominating role like he did in 2017.

This week might finally be the week we see Kamara show why he is going to be a Hall of Famer by the end of his career. The Saints give up a lot of yards through the air, but the Buccaneers give up a lot of yards through the air AND on the ground. That is a recipe for success for Kamara if I’ve ever seen one.

Kamara didn’t tear up the ground game against Tampa Bay, only going for 29 yards in their Week 1 meeting, but he scored two touchdowns and caught nine passes for 112 yards and another score. He should be able to repeat that performance as the Saints look to wrap up the division in Week 14.
