New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave did not take participate in practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

Olave was also listed as questionable last weekend against the Carolina Panthers due to an illness, but he ended up playing in 34 of his team’s 52 offensive snaps. He logged four catches for 28 yards and a touchdown in the win.

On the season overall, Olave has caught 72 passes for 918 yards and four scores.

The 23-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State, was selected by the Saints with the 11th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.

He played in 15 games during his rookie campaign, hauling in 72 receptions for 1,042 yards and four scores.

Olave is New Orleans’ leading receiver this season, with running back Alvin Kamara coming in second with 63 catches. As far as wide outs, Michael Thomas is the Saints’ second-leading pass-catcher at the position with 39 grabs.

Prior to last week, Olave had put together two straight 100-yard performances, accumulating 12 catches for 233 yards in Weeks 12 and 13.

If Olave is unable to go against the Giants, the Saints may be in some trouble, as New Orleans’ aerial attack has been inconsistent all season long even with Olave in the lineup.

The Saints snapped a three-game losing streak with their win over the Panthers this past weekend. After battling New York this Sunday, New Orleans will take on the Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons to close out the regular season.

New Orleans is currently 6-7 and is locked in a three-way tie for first place in the NFC South.
