New Stat Shows How Dominant Raiders WR Davante Adams Has Been

For as disappointed as the Green Bay Packers were to have to say goodbye to Davante Adams, the Las Vegas Raiders are ecstatic. Their offense was missing a true No. 1 wide receiver and they have filled that void with one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.

There is a good argument that could be made that Adams is the best wide receiver in the NFL right now. The chemistry that he had with Aaron Rodgers was second to none as they picked apart defenses on a weekly basis with back-shoulder passes.

Adams has made the Pro Bowl every year since 2017, earning First-Team All-Pro honors the last two seasons as well. He has caught 506 passes in that time span, averaged 1,239 yards per season and caught 57 touchdowns to cement himself near the top of the wide receiver rankings.

Over at PFF, it doesn’t seem like much of an argument about who the best receiver in the league is. Since 2017, Adams is the highest-graded player at the position with a grade of 93.7. Tied for second behind him at 93.4 are Julio Jones and Michael Thomas. At No. 4 comes DeAndre Hopkins with a 93.1 and Tyreek Hill rounds out the top five with a grade of 91.7

Needless to say, the Raiders are getting themselves a good one in Adams.

Adams’ production during that time is made even more impressive when you take into account he has never really had a pass-catcher opposite of him to garner some attention from opposing defenses. Having a quarterback as talented as Rodgers certainly helps, but Adams still has to make the play and more often than not, he is capable of doing it.

Going from Rodgers to Derek Carr is a downgrade in talent, but the two have experience playing with each other from their time collegiately at Fresno State. But, Adams should still produce some big numbers.

New Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels will ensure that there are plays schemed to get Davante Adams open. All of Carr’s strengths throwing the ball are where Adams excels on the field as well, so there should still be plenty of big grades being earned by Adams in 2022.
