QB Tyrod Taylor (Cleveland Browns)
The quarterback position is an area of need going forward for the Giants. Manning has been awful this year to say the least.
Through eight games, Manning has thrown for 2,377 yards, eight touchdowns and six interceptions. That stat line is disappointing when you take in to consideration the arsenal he has on this roster.
The Giants have a plethora of weapons like Barkley, Beckham, Evan Engram, Sterling Shepard and Cody Latimer on the offense. Quarterbacks would salivate at the opportunity to have weapons like that at their disposal.
For the Giants, they can’t waste time bidding farewell to Manning. They need to make a move to start their search for their future franchise quarterback.
For Tyrod Taylor, he’s been asked to take a backseat to Baker Mayfield after suffering an injury. Everyone knew Taylor had a short leash regardless of how he played, with the Cleveland Browns using the number one pick on Mayfield.
I’m not saying Taylor is the long-term solution for the Giants, but he could definitely help them improve in the near future. Taylor fits what the Giants would need from a quarterback in this offense.
Taylor is a mobile quarterback (which is needed with a bad offensive line), and has a big arm. The one thing the Giants offense lacks, is the ability to stretch the field.
That wouldn’t be an issue, as Taylor can unload downfield rather easily, as seen here.

These are the type of plays that we’ve been yearning to witness from this Giants offense. The main culprit for that is Manning.
Taylor becomes a free agent in 2019, leaving the option for the Giants to sign him to a short-term deal. Drafting a quarterback alongside Taylor wouldn’t be a terrible idea, allowing the young quarterback to develop.
