Protect Eli Manning
One of the issues that have caused New York fans to be restless, is the play from the offensive line. This has been an issue for a couple of years now, leaving the Giants searching for answers.
Nate Solder and Patrick Omameh have been disappointing acquisitions so far this season. Omameh has actually been released by the Giants, after signing a 3 -year, $15 million dollar deal this past off-season.
The Giants did in fact sign Jamon Brown though. Brown started at right guard for the Los Angeles Rams the last couple of years.
Brown lost his starting spot after being suspended and his replacement in Austin Blythe impressed. For the Giants, Brown will likely start for them this season.
The Giants will need all the help they can get, as they have allowed 31 sacks this season. That is the third most in the NFL.
I understand all of the problems that lie within the Giants isn’t just the offensive line, as there are a multitude of issues on both sides of the ball.
You don’t get to 1-7 by just having bad offensive line play. The Giants will actually be tested by a 49ers team who are actually sacking the quarterback regularly.
Through nine games, the 49ers have sacked the quarterback 24 times. If the Giants hope to get a win on Monday, they must protect Manning.
