Eli Will Need to Take Advantage of Weak Saints Defense
Week 3 against the Texans was the best game Eli Manning has played so far this season. Manning struggled in their first two games, throwing for just 503 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
That level of play won’t get it done, which was a reason they were sitting at 0-2.
Manning stepped up in Week 3 though, throwing for 297 yards and 2 touchdowns. The most impressive part was he completed 25 of his 29 pass attempts, with no turnovers.
The Giants will need him to carry that performance into Week 4. When you play the Saints, you expect to be in a high-scoring affair.
With Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas on the other side, the Giants will need to match their firepower. They can do that by utilizing Barkley and Beckham, but it all falls on Manning’s play.
I’m not saying Manning needs to outplay Brees (which is very hard to do), he just needs to take advantage of a defense that is struggling mightily so far this year.
If the Giants expect to come out with a victory in Week 4, they must have Manning playing at a level that can match the points of the Saints offense.
