The offensive line has been an overlying issue all season. They keep making changes along the line, but they still aren’t yielding the results they want.
Through seven games, the Giants have allowed 24 sacks on the season. That is the fifth most in the NFL, leaving the Giants searching for answers.
The Giants signed Nate Solder and Patrick Omameh in the off-season. Solder has struggled mightily, while Omameh was benched in Week 7. It’s safe to say it hasn’t gone as expected.
So far this year, the offensive line has allowed three or more sacks in every game but two. It’s hard not to make an improvement off of that.
Manning has had his struggles this year as well, but he will need more time to survey the field. Even though, when he has had time, he misses throws left and right.
Good news for the Giants, the Redskins haven’t had much of a pass rush this season. They have netted just 14 sacks on the year. That is tied for 24th in the NFL.
If the Giants expect to get their second win of the season, they must protect Manning throughout the whole game.
