Will Hernandez, Guard
New York knew they had to improve their offensive line in the off-season, not just to protect Eli but to improve the running game as well. They did this by first signing Nate Solder from the New England Patriots to play left tackle for them. They then drafted Will Hernandez in the second round of this years draft to bulk up their line. These were two key additions for the Giants that hopefully pay off this season.
Will Hernandez played at UTEP in college where he was known for his bruising blocks, mostly in the running game. The Giants could absolutely use a guy like that creating lanes for Barkley to run. I know it may be preseason, but it might be a sign of things to come that the Giants were able to run willingly on the Browns. They had 134 yards on 23 carries. Look for Hernandez and the rest of the Giants offensive line to build on their dominant performance from last week in Week 2 of the preseason.
