New York Giants: 3 Takeaways From Week 6 Loss vs. Eagles

Eli Manning Continues to Struggle Mightily

Eli Manning has been absolutely disappointing this season. When you have Barkley, Beckham and Shepard as your weapons, there’s no excuse as to why he is struggling.

Benching Manning is a conversation that can be definitely be had. If he keeps struggling like this, hopefully the discussion is had sooner than later.

This is a team with plenty of talent on both sides of the ball, which makes you really scratch your head on how they are 1-5.

Yes, the offensive line has also struggled, but they aren’t missing wide open WRs downfield. Ereck Flowers is no longer present, giving them no scapegoat on the line.

Last night, Manning had 281 yards passing, completing just 24 of his 43 attempts (55% completion percentage). He also had an interception on the Giants first drive on offense.

He failed to throw a touchdown in a game for the second time this season.

Here is the interception.

It is a questionable decision by Manning, throwing it behind his intended target, where it was tipped to make an interception.

It took just 45 seconds into the game, for him to turn the ball over.

This has been an issue for years now, which begs you to ask the question: Should the Giants bench Manning this season?

The answer to that question is definitely up for debate. Either way, the QB play for the Giants will need to improve drastically if they intend on not becoming the laughing-stock of the NFL.
