New York Giants Named Top Destination For Cowboys’ Dak Prescott

Could the New York Giants pursue Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott next offseason?

Prescott has still not secured a contract extension with the Cowboys, and with the 2024 season opener just a week away, it’s looking more and more like the quarterback will play out this year without a new deal.

That means Prescott is slated to hit free agency next March, and Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk feels that the Giants may represent the best potential destination for the NFC East signal-caller.

That would certainly be a real kick, wouldn’t it?

New York’s situation under center is certainly in flux at the moment. The Giants will be rolling with Daniel Jones at quarterback, but based on the results Jones has put forth over his first five seasons, Big Blue may have to search for a new solution after 2024.

Of course, Jones could always rediscover his 2022 form and have another impressive showing, but if he continues to struggle, the Giants will have to look for another answer.

New York could always look to the 2025 NFL Draft, but if it wants a more immediate solution, Prescott could be an avenue the team pursues.

Would Dak Prescott be a good fit with the New York Giants?

Here’s the thing with the Giants: they actually have some legitimate pieces in place.

New York may very well boast one of the best defensive fronts in the NFL, and it actually has some intriguing young wide receivers in Malik Nabers, Wan’Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt.

The offensive line remains a question mark, and the Giants also don’t have a very impressive backfield, but they aren’t in horrible shape overall.

Prescott could step in and possibly make Big Blue a playoff team, which would be the ultimate revenge against the division rival Cowboys.

But would Dallas really let Prescott walk to New York?

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has maintained all along that he wants to retain Prescott, although he has yet to put his money where his mouth is.

Much of this may depend on the type of season Prescott has in 2024.

Regardless, the next six months should definitely be very interesting, and it could ultimately result in Dak Prescott doing the unthinkable and donning a New York Giants uniform.
