New York Giants: The Possibility of Going 0-16 Is Real

In October, the New York Giants will not catch any breaks as they face off against three of the top teams in the NFC.

@Carolina Panthers (Oct. 7): The Giants just can’t catch a break this early in the season. They go from Brees to Cam Newton while trying to score on one of the stingiest defenses in the NFL. This may be the game where Odell Beckham catches fire but it will be tough for Barkley to break free from one of the toughest run defenses in the league. (Panthers win)

Philadelphia Eagles (Oct. 11): A division game is never easy and despite the Eagles taking the field as champs, the Giants will put up a fight — for two quarters. The Eagles are too tough across the board and will find a way to bottle up Barkley and force Eli to beat them with his arm. Last season, Manning put up solid numbers against the Eagles, but that was last year. (Eagles win)

@Atlanta Falcons (Oct. 22): It just doesn’t get easier for the Giants. Next up is a Falcons team many believe can go the distance. This is still the same team just a season removed from being in the Super Bowl. Can the Giants’ defense contain Matt Ryan and Julio Jones? No. (Falcons win)

Washington Redskins (Oct. 28): This might be the first game the New York Giants could actually walk away victorious. But this all depends on if Alex Smith is in a groove. Although both teams are going through a rough patch, the Redskins’ secondary registered 16 interceptions in 2017. Their rushing defense was worst in the NFL which could lead to a big day by Barkley. This will be a close one, but the Redskins’ receivers should have a field day against the Giants DBs. (Redskins win)
