In December, the New York Giants will finish their season against three teams vying for playoff position.
Chicago Bears (Dec. 2): This is another game the Giants should win but the Bears won’t be an easy win. Second-year QB Mitch Trubisky should be much improved as did his weapons. By this point in the season, the Giants should be on a “pride mission” but not even that should save them from another embarrassing defeat. (Bears win)
@Washington Redskins (Dec. 9): The second game against the Redskins may serve as revenge after their first close call. In all fairness, the Giants will still lose this game. The avalanche has already begun and by now, there’s no stopping it. (Redskins win)
Tennessee Titans (Dec. 16): The Giants will face the Titans who should be fighting for position in the AFC playoffs by now. The Giants defense is not equipped to handle mobile QBs and containing Marcus Mariota will be no easy task. (Titans win)
@Indianapolis Colts (Dec. 23): The Giants will head to Indy with a goal of getting their first win. However, with Andrew Luck possibly playing at an MVP level, the Colts will be ready to hand the Giants their 15th straight loss of the season. With rumors swirling of a possible firing of Pat Shurmur, the Giants will stink it up once more before the final game of the season. (Colts win)
Dallas Cowboys (Dec. 30): This is the one. If there was ever a game the Giants should win, this may be it. With the Eagles expected to run away with the division, the Cowboys may be in a position where their playoff seed is cemented. If so, then resting their starters is a possibility. But, if the Cowboys are still fighting for playoff position, then the New York Giants will end the season the same way they started it — no wins. (Cowboys win)
Hey, you don’t have to agree with me but there is a strong chance the Giants could very well be the next Cleveland Browns. The first half of their schedule is just brutal and by then, fans will be calling for a “tank season.”
