Jets Targeting WR Adam Thielen In NFL Free Agency

The New York Jets have been one of the most talked about teams in the NFL so far this offseason. Most of that has to do with the fact that many believe Aaron Rodgers will be traded to them in the very near future. While nothing has been finalized with the Green Bay Packers, everything is building in that direction.

What would be the next course of action for the Jets if they are able to pull off a trade for Rodgers? Quite simply, New York would want to add as many weapons for their new superstar quarterback as they can.

According to one former NFL executive who spoke to NFL Analysis Network, Adam Thielen is a free agency target for New York this offseason.

“Adam Thielen is a guy that Aaron Rodgers would love to play with. The Jets have had some dialogue with Thielen and he is a top target for them. He has other suitors, but New York is a team to watch closely.”

Thielen was a cap release by the Minnesota Vikings, but he still has some good football left in him. He has put together an impressive all-around career and would be a nice starter for almost any team in the NFL.

Last season with the Vikings, Thielen ended up catching 70 passes for 716 yards and six touchdowns. Those numbers show that he has plenty of gas left in the tank. The Jets should absolutely pursue him.

At 32 years of age, Thielen makes perfect sense for the Jets. Trading for Rodgers would be a clear sign that they are all-in on competing for a Super Bowl right now. Rodgers has appreciation for how the veteran wideout plays and having a quarterback like Rodgers would be ideal for Thielen as well.

Garrett Wilson will be the No. 1 wide receiver for the Jets in 2023. Thielen would slide right in as an above average No. 2. Elijah Moore and Corey Davis are both on the roster as well.

Expect to continue hearing rumors about the Jets in the coming days and weeks. Adam Thielen has a wide range of suitors, but the Jets are certainly one of them.
