NFL: 2 bold predictions for each QB in the AFC South in Week 2

Bold Prediction 1: Tannehill will throw two touchdowns to Jonnu Smith

With AJ Brown ruled out this week other player will have to step up in the passing game. While Corey Smith will take over as the starting receiver, Jonnu Smith will emerge as the star pass catcher this week. Smith broke out in the playoffs against Baltimore last season.

He is a young athletic tight end with great leaping ability. The Jaguars had some issues covering the Colts tight ends last week, specifically on a few play-action passes. Tennessee’s strong run game will force linebackers to play the run a bit more. Jonnu Smith will capitalize.

Bold Prediction 2: Tannehill will rush for over 50 yards

As efficient as Tannehill has been throwing the ball, people often forget how athletic he is. Last season Ryan Tannehill had 2 rushing touchdowns and 47 rushing yards against Jacksonville. We may see similar numbers without the touchdowns this week.

Tannehill is without his big-play receiver. He may look to make some play with his feet this week. Maybe even some big runs on some QB options where a majority of the focus will be on Derrick Henry.

Final Word: Ryan Tannehill is showing what he can do with a strong offensive line and good coaching. While he was not the greatest quarterback in Miami, he was able to win them some games.

However, in Tennessee he has a superior offensive line and run game. His health is still a concern, however when surrounded by talent Tannehill is one of the better QB’s in the league.
