Texans, Patriots, Deshaun Watson, Tom Brady

Deshaun Watson, Houston Texans

Bold Prediction 1: Deshaun Watson will have an MVP level game

With the Houston trading away DeAndre Hopkins, much of the offense is reliant on Texans QB Deshaun Watson to elevate his game to another level. Watson has had a very strong start to his career, but he has yet to jump into the Russell Wilson/Patrick Mahomes conversation. However, this week against Baltimore Watson will put the team on his back.

It will take an incredible effort from Watson to come away with a win this week. He will finish with over 300 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and a rushing touchdown. While a game like that usually will get you a victory, that is what he will have to do just to give Houston a chance this week. It could be a wild game against the Ravens

Bold Prediction 2: Watson will throw two touchdowns over 40 yards

While the Texans don’t have an elite receiver like DeAndre Hopkins, they do have threat very good deep threats. This Texans offense has the potential to be a lighter version of the Kansas City Chiefs. Brandon Cooks, Will Fuller, and Kenny Stills are all receivers that can get behind safeties and make big plays.

The Ravens no longer have Earl Thomas roaming in the secondary. Watson and company will test this secondary a lot. It may work on a couple of plays resulting in big touchdown plays.

Final Word: The Texans have talent on both sides of the ball. However, if they really want to be contenders Deshaun Watson will have to play like an MVP. He has done a very good job taking control of games and he has all the potential to make that leap.

If Watson can join the ranks of Wilson, Mahomes, and Jackson then the Texans have a shot of making a deep playoff run and possibly a Super Bowl.
