Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints
Week 2 matchup: at Las Vegas Raiders, Monday, Sept. 21
Brees makes up for Thomas’ absence
The Raiders allowed 30 points in their first game against the Panthers. Bridgewater was able to get comfortable while Robby Anderson finished with six catches for 115 yards and a touchdown. Michael Thomas had a poor debut against the Bucs and was hobbled coming off the field.
Thomas will be sidelined for Week 2 and this is a chance for Emmanuel Sanders and Alvin Kamara to put up big numbers on Monday night, where the Saints have dominated in recent years.
First 300-yard game of 2020
New Orleans did not need Brees to do too much in this game. Janoris Jenkins took an interception back for a touchdown and they were given a short field after a muffed kickoff. In Week 2, the offense will have a chance to open up a bit. Brees and Jared Cook had a nice connection in Week 1.
Sanders caught a touchdown and the team looked good without Thomas being a factor. Brees will have a huge game against that Raiders’ defense.
