Netane Muti, Denver Broncos

A big-man gets some love as the last 6th-round sleeper, and big is an understand with Broncos guard Netane Muti. The Fresno State product was a draft scout’s dream for a guard when you turn on Muti’s tape. Pro Football Focus had this analysis about Muti leading up to the NFL Draft as they had an extremely high-grade for him.

His highlight tape is reminiscent of former top-10 pick Quenton Nelson in its utter physical dominance.

So how does a player that gets compared to agruably the best guard in the whole NFL fall all the way to pick #181? Well, when Muti was on the field he was dominant, however he was not on the field often for Fresno State. After starting all 14 games his red-shirt freshman year, Muti suffered two season-ending injuries as a sophomore and junior limiting him to just a combined 5 more career games.

Despite the very impressive film of what looked liked a day-2 guard prospect, teams were scared off from Muti’s foot and Achilles injuries making him a 6th-round pick. Muti landed with Denver in a young-and-upcoming offense.

As a rookie Muti will be a reserve guard with Dalton Risner and Broncos’ free agent signing Graham Glasgow as the presume starters. Muti will of course have to show the ability to stay on the field as well but come 2021, a healthy Muti has the sear power to insert himself into Denver’s O-Line core.
