Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are at their best when the running game is working. The Rams are only two years removed from a Super Bowl appearance. However, the workhorse who took them there is no longer on the team.

Los Angeles let Todd Gurley go over the offseason. Now there is a question of who the starting back will be. Cam Akers is an exciting back out of FSU. However, he is only a rookie and there is a lot to prove. Darrell Henderson did not impress last season. The Rams should look to add a proven talent at running back.

Phillip Lindsay is a a perfect fit for Los Angeles. The Rams is based off the zone run. They use the run game to set up the play-action. Philip Lindsay would thrive in this kind of offense. His speed lets him get to the second level quickly. Lindsay doesn’t have the injury history Gurley has. Sean McVay can trust in Lindsay to receive a majority of the touches.

While Lindsay would serve as the primary back, he would not be a true workhorse. The Rams have options with Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson. The two young backs can grow without the pressure to produce immediately. With a solid three-man rotation at running back, the Rams could once again emerge as contenders. Under McVay, Lindsay could very well be the focal point of one of the leagues best offenses.
