The more the merrier is a mantra that NFL teams have taken to heart when it comes to the wide receiver position. In today’s pass-oriented league, it’s almost a necessity for teams to have more than one viable wide receiver if they want to have fruitful results on the offensive side of the ball.
There was a decent amount of trades that took place ahead of the 2019 trade deadline. However, of the notable trades that transpired, three of them involved wide receivers. Emmanuel Sanders would join the San Francisco 49ers on their quest to a Super Bowl and Mohamed Sanu would be acquired by the New England Patriots in hopes to provide a spark in their passing attack. Lastly, Zay Jones would be traded to the Las Vegas Raiders from the Buffalo Bills.
Besides Sanders, Sanu, and Jones, A.J. Green, Robby Anderson, and even Odell Beckham Jr. saw their names involved in trade rumors as the deadline approached. The idea of trading for a wide receiver trickled into the 2020 offseason, with DeAndre Hopkins and Stefon Diggs finding new homes via trade.
While the offseason has been affected by COVID-19, we could see more wide receivers traded when the upcoming season gets underway. With that in mind, which wide receivers could find themselves being traded during the 2020 season?
