NFL: 4 teams poised to take a step back during the 2020 season

Green Bay Packers

The turnaround the Green Bay Packers experienced during the 2019 season was quite impressive. They went from posting a 6-9-1 record the year prior to ultimately finishing with a 13-3 record and capping it off with an appearance in the NFC Championship Game.

Some of what took place in the offseason bordered on the bizarre for the Packers. In a draft class widely touted as being a historic year for wide receivers, Green Bay elected to not only take a quarterback prospect, they traded up to do it.

The Packers faced considerable concerns with their lack of impact from supporting cast receivers around Davante Adams. He is their main option that can actually create separation for himself in 1-on-1 situations, but aside from him, the offensive system often has to free up space for others.

It’s difficult to envision the Packers pulling off quite as lengthy of a playoff run as they just had even with Aaron Rodgers under center. There are many formidable teams that could be primed to pull off such a feat including the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks along with the New Orleans Saints.
