5. Philip Rivers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
There has been a lot of talented players on defense who the Jacksonville Jaguars have had to move on from. All of those departures will add up and the end results should be a struggling season as a unit in 2020.
The first quarterback to get the chance to go up against the Jaguars in 2020 will be Philip Rivers during his Colts debut. A team with a poor secondary and an underwhelming front-seven is an advantageous matchup to begin his bounce-back season.
Now playing behind an elite offensive line, Rivers will be in a position to become much more efficient. He’s not going to have to throw a ton of times to win games. However, he’s going to be able to make effective throws that results in consistently successful outcomes.
The Jaguars will have to respect the Colts’ running game, especially now that they have Jonathan Taylor in the backfield. It will help Rivers set up the pass, enabling him to capitalize on the circumstances. Don’t be surprised by Rivers reaching 325 yards with 3 or 4 passing touchdowns.
