The Jacksonville Jaguars are in a strange predicament with their star edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue. Jacksonville has talented pass rushers with the likes of Josh Allen and rookie K’Lavon Chaisson. However, Nagkoue feels as though he is an irreplaceable talent on that defensive front.
Ngakoue may be a talented young player, but his asking price is that of some of the top defensive ends in the NFL. Jacksonville feels as though a player who surpassed 10 sacks only once in his career is not worth that type of money.
This clash of egos led to a dramatic series of tweets and instagram posts. One of which was calling out Jaguars Senior Vice President of Football Administration and Technology Tony Khan. This exchange looked like it would be the boiling point. Khan fired back saying his outbursts would only lower his stock.
After the outburst, it seems like Khan was correct. The waters have been cool on the Ngakoue trade front. Regardless, Ngakoue is still a young talent that could make a difference to a team in need of an edge rusher.
Here are five teams who should still pursue a Yannick Ngakoue trade.
