5 NFL teams who should still pursue a Yannick Ngakoue trade

Buccaneers Receive: Yannick Ngaokue and a Fourth Round Pick
Jaguars Receive: O.J. Howard and a 2022 First Round Pick

Tampa Bay shocked the sports world when they signed quarterback Tom Brady in the offseason. Things got even more shocking when Rob Gronkowski came out of retirement and joined the Bucs. I don’t think Tampa Bay is done just yet though.

This trade makes perfect sense for the Bucs. Yannick Ngakoue hasn’t proven that he can be the number one pass rusher on a defense as of yet. So far, he has been more of the sidekick. How perfect would it be he lines up opposite the NFL’s sack leader next season?

Shaq Barrett came out of nowhere last year, but this year I expect a bit of a dip in production. Where Barrett falls, Ngakoue will rise. Tampa now has a strong defense to coincide with it’s high powered offense.

On the Jaguars’ end, they land a tight end who hasn’t really proven himself yet, but still has heaps of potential. Tight ends take some time to adjust and rarely burst onto the scene dominating. Although they did improve their tight end position signing Tyler Eifert, he is known for his injuries.

Jacksonville has depth at tight end, which should help young quarterback Gardner Minshew II develop. They also get a 2022 first-round pick in case this is Brady and Gronk’s last season and Tampa Bay goes a year in QB Limbo.
