NFL: 5 wide receivers listed as breakout candidates in 2020

Each NFL season presents a new opportunity for some players to take the necessary leap to reach star status. While some fail to achieve the necessary results to reach that next level, managing to succeed can produce impressive overall results.

This year’s NFL Draft featured a very deep crop of talented receivers that could step in from day one and produce for their respective team. The teams that selected receivers in the early rounds mostly seem to be anticipating their prospects playing important roles in 2020.

Let’s not forget, there are factors like roster turnover to take into consideration. A key departure can create more opportunities for that player directly with their new team while sometimes resulting in a larger role for a previous teammate.

Some of the top examples of receivers to have a breakout 2019 campaign this from last season included Chris Godwin, Courtland Sutton, and D.J. Chark to name a few. Who will be the receivers to do the same during the upcoming NFL season?

Here are five wide receivers listed as being set to have a breakout season in 2020.
