Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

Where better to start than in Arizona? Expectations have never been higher for the Cardinals. With the added pressure, Kyler Murray has been put under the spotlight. This is something the former Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft is used to. Murray is coming off a rookie of the year campaign. Now, some are thinking MVP. However, that may be a bit premature.

As good as Murray was last season, he did have flaws to his game. Although the Cardinals added one of the leagues best receivers in DeAndre Hopkins, it doesn’t make up for the Cardinals below average offensive line. Arizona also plays in arguably the toughest division in football. Making the playoffs will be a challenge for Murray, let alone an MVP award. However, the Cardinals are making all the right moves to ensure that a playoff run could be possible.

Hopkins going to one of the most pass heavy offenses in the NFL could spell trouble for secondaries. Kyler Murray is at his best when he can improvise. Murray has the unique ability turn a broken play into a big game. We saw last season with Lamar Jackson and the season before with Patrick Mahomes just how successful second year quarterbacks can be.

It might be a long shot, but it will be interesting to see if Murray can keep the tradition of year two MVPs going.
