Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have put together a very strange NFL offseason. After falling to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs last year, many thought they would get aggressive in an attempt to push towards the Super Bowl in 2024.

Instead, they have stayed quiet and failed to make any sizable moves to impact the upcoming season. To say that it’s a confusing approach would be an understatement.

Entering the 2024 season, there is no question that the Cowboys are facing a make-or-break season. Many believe that if they don’t win the NFC East and make a deep playoff run, the organization will go through major changes. Those changes would likely include moving on from Dak Prescott and firing head coach Mike McCarthy.

The media has been just as confused by what the Cowboys are doing.

NFL Analyst Drops Confused Reaction To The Dallas Cowboys

Fox Sports analyst Craig Carton spoke out about how the Cowboys have been operating. He is very confused by the way Jones and company are moving towards the future.

“I really cannot figure out how and why the Dallas Cowboys are operating like this.”

Here’s the video to the segment so that you can watch it for yourself:

So far this offseason, the biggest moves that the Cowboys have been made are hiring Mike Zimmer to be their new defensive coordinator and signing veteran linebacker Eric Kendricks. While those two moves aren’t bad moves at all, they’re not anything that will move the needle by themselves.

It’s possible that the Cowboys believe they had the roster to win a Super Bowl last season. They may be more focusing on having a better approach to big games rather than adding more talent.

Looking at the roster, the Cowboys are loaded with talent on both sides of the football. They do have a big decision to make with free agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore. Bringing him back would be a great move, as they will have a hole in their secondary if he leaves town.

All of that being said, it will be interesting to see how the Cowboys fare during the 2024 season. They haven’t made many moves, so it will be on the core from last season to take the team even further. It could work out well, or it could be an absolute disaster.
