Davante Adams, Jets

As the 2023 NFL offseason continues to move forward, most player movement has come to a standstill. There is still the occasional move made, but nothing major. However, the Las Vegas Raiders have been mentioned often in trade rumors surrounding star wide receiver Davante Adams. A team to watch in those talks could be the New York Jets.

That’s right, there is some speculation that the Jets could be a trade suitor for Adams if the Raiders actually make him available. A move to acquire Adams would reunite Aaron Rodgers with his longtime friend in New York.

Colin Cowherd didn’t hold anything back when he floated the idea that Adams could end up with the Jets. The move would certainly make a lot of sense and would likely excite Adams to be back with Rodgers.

“ProFootballTalk is suggesting that Davante Adams and Jimmy Garoppolo is not an ideal fit. They’re right. Davante wants a ‘let it rip guy’, up the sidelines, back shoulder guy like Aaron Rodgers. Look at the Jets schedule, if they’re struggling early it’s not going to be the defense, it’s not going to be the pass rush, it’s not going to be the run-game, it’s not Aaron Rodgers, it’s a lack of weapons. Would the Jets be interested in Davante Adams pre or around the trade deadline?”

Before Rodgers ended up heading to the Jets, there was speculation that he could join Adams in Las Vegas. Adams was very active in recruiting his former quarterback on Twitter. Joining forces again is obviously of interest to the star wideout.

During the 2022 season with the Raiders, Adams enjoyed yet another massive season. Even with Derek Carr leading the way, who happens to be one of Adams’ best friends, he racked up 100 receptions for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns. Can you imagine him heading to the Jets to team up with Rodgers, Garrett Wilson, Corey Davis, and Mecole Hardman?

At 30 years of age, Davante Adams simply wants to compete for a Super Bowl. He is arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL, although most have Justin Jefferson in that slot. Rejoining Rodgers would be a wild move, but one that makes perfect sense for all parties involved.

Expect to continue hearing rumors about Adams and the Raiders in the coming days and weeks. If he becomes available, Rodgers will absolutely push the Jets to make a move for him.
