NFL Analyst Gets Brutally Honest About Titans’ Trade For Robert Woods

One of the busier markets in the NFL this offseason has been the wide receiver market. There have been some big names on the move via trade and a lot of money handed out in free agency. One of the teams that have made some changes to their wide receiver depth chart this offseason is the Tennessee Titans.

Tennessee made a splash move last offseason acquiring Julio Jones from the Atlanta Falcons. It wasn’t a move that yielded the best results as Jones was unable to stay healthy, playing in only 10 regular-season games.

He did flash some of the dominance we had been used to seeing during his time in Atlanta, but it was few and far between. As a result, the Titans released him this offseason, moving in a different direction opposite of A.J. Brown.

Tennessee made another trade for a wide receiver, this time bringing in Robert Woods from the Los Angeles Rams. The Titans acquired Woods in exchange for a sixth-round pick, which one NFL analyst believed was a robbery.

Woods tore his ACL in November, which could have very well played a part in the price being so low to acquire him. But, he was already beginning to jog in February and was reportedly on track to have a full recovery by this spring.

Now, there is a big difference between being medically cleared to return and feeling physically able to return to the field in the NFL. It will likely take some time for Woods to get back up to speed and trust his knee again, but the earlier he is cleared and can knock off that rust, the better.

Woods has kind of flown under the radar in his career but has been an excellent player for years with the Rams. He has averaged 68 yards per game in five seasons in Los Angeles, stepping into a more prominent role than the one he held for four seasons with the Buffalo Bills to begin his career and make the most of it.

The Titans are getting a very good, consistent player that will be able to complement Brown well as the No. 2 option in the passing game. Prior to tearing his ACL this past season, Woods had been a very durable player, missing only 12 games in eight seasons.
